Delivery Order – Our process for your success
The path to series production
Enquiry and Component Specification
The customer submits an enquiry for a component requiring forging or casting as an initial process, based on our high-quality manufacturing capabilities. This usually includes CAD data, drawings, and technical and functional requirements. If needed, we can provide support in detailing and optimising the component specification at this early stage.- Calculation on a CBD basis
We calculate the enquiry using the ‘CBD open book’ method. All cost components – from raw materials and processing to logistics and quality assurance – are analysed transparently. Depending on requirements, we use our own production facilities or engage a proven, quality-assured partner from our network. This ensures maximum flexibility and dependable quality. - Coordination with the Cost Engineer
The CBD calculation is reviewed in collaboration with the customer's cost engineer. The aim is to disclose all cost drivers, identify potential savings, and jointly define an economically and technically optimised solution. The result is a finalised, transparent, and comprehensible pricing model. - Start of the PEP (Product Development Process)
Once pricing is approved and the nomination is made, the digital, workflow-controlled product development process (PEP) begins. All relevant project participants are involved, and the schedule towards series production readiness is activated. Progress and milestones can be tracked transparently at any time. - Scope of the Service Production Package
Our comprehensive service package represents the core of our portfolio and ensures efficient, on-time project delivery and reliable component supply.
Development Order – Efficiently reaching the goal
Development process at a glance
- Determining Requirements
The customer requires a new product with forging or casting as the initial process. The focus is often on specific criteria – such as load capacity, weight, or material selection – which are jointly defined at the outset. - Lack of Customer Resources
The customer may lack the capacity, specialised know-how, or experience to carry out the project independently. Together, we analyse the required external skills and technologies to implement the project efficiently and to a high standard. - Requirements profile and offer phase
The requirements profile for Wossner technology is created on this basis and we check the feasibility within our own production facilities. If necessary, we will call in qualified and audited partners from our global supplier network. Aspects such as material availability, formability, simulation results and economic feasibility are included in the assessment. - Coordination and project order
The proposal is tailored in a personal meeting, taking the customer’s internal resources into account. Communication channels, project roles, and specific requirements – such as standards or approval stages – are defined. The project is officially commissioned following final approval. Start of the PEP (Product Development Process)
With the order placed, the digital, workflow-controlled PEP begins. It covers all steps from design, simulation, and production planning to prototype coordination. The modular process is adapted to the product’s complexity and allows for transparent tracking through digital tools.Reaching the Defined Milestone
The target is usually milestone 4, i.e:Final design handover
- Production and assembly drawings
- Simulation results
- Technical calculation documentation
- Tool designs and documentation
- FMEA results for risk analysis
- Optional: Initial prototypes or rapid manufacturing samples
Series production order – Safely ready for series production
From feasibility to release
- Determining Requirements
The customer requires a new product involving forging or casting. Emphasis is placed on functional specifications, materials, and target values such as cost, weight, or service life. Upon request, we support concept evaluation and process selection from the outset. Resource Analysis
The customer lacks internal capacity or specific expertise for implementation. Together, we identify bottlenecks in areas such as development, production, or quality assurance and develop a cooperative implementation model. This creates a solid foundation for efficient collaboration.- Requirements Profile and Feasibility Check
The requirements profile for Wossner technology is created on this basis and we check the feasibility within our own production facilities. If necessary, we will call in qualified and audited partners from our global supplier network. Aspects such as material availability, formability, simulation results and economic feasibility are included in the assessment. - Preparation of Quotation and Coordination
We prepare a detailed proposal, including a project timeline, technical specifications, and an initial estimate of costs and risks. In a coordination meeting, we clarify open points, adapt the offer to the project’s framework, and define roles and interfaces. - Start of the PEP (Product Development Process)
Once commissioned, the digital, workflow-controlled PEP starts. It includes design, simulation, tooling, advance quality planning (APQP), and regular review gates to release individual work packages. Project status is documented transparently via digital tools. - Achieving the Defined Milestone
The target is usually Milestone 5, which delivers a complete development and production package:- Final component design, production drawings, simulation data, and calculations
- Tool designs, machining programmes, and ready-to-use tools
- Complete, structured cost calculation based on CBD logic
- Results of process capability analysis (e.g. Cpk, Ppk)
- Optional: Sampling results according to PPAP or VDA guidelines
Advisor request - Expertise on demand
External support at a glance
- Need for External Support
The customer is developing a new product, but internal constraints, tighter timelines, or unforeseen challenges are putting pressure on the schedule and PEP milestones. This calls for swift, targeted expert intervention. - Enquiry and Status Analysis
The customer contacts Wossner Technology with specific support needs – such as design, simulation, methodological review, or materials and manufacturing consulting. In a joint meeting, we analyse the current status, identify bottlenecks, and clarify tasks, responsibilities, and timeframes. - Proposal Preparation
We prepare a tailored proposal detailing the required services, estimated time effort (daily or hourly), and delivery mode (remote or on-site). An initial assessment of project duration, key cost drivers, and necessary resources is included. - Project Assignment and Milestones
Following approval, the formal assignment is confirmed. Together with the customer, we define milestones – either integrated into the existing PEP or as standalone work packages – and ensure seamless integration into the ongoing development process. - Milestone Support
Milestones are presented at the customer’s premises. Wossner Technology acts as a presenter, observer, or expert support on-site, depending on the agreement
